Anti-COX-1, polyclonal antibody  (Rabbit)               Catalog0807-3

Product Description: Cyclooxygenase-1(Cox-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (Cox-2) are prostaglandin synthases that catalyze the formation of PGH2 from arachidonic acid. Cox1 is expressed constitutively in most tissues, while Cox2 expression is induced by lipopolysaccaride (LPS) and peptoglycan (PGN). PGN activates Ras, leading to phosphorylation of Raf at Ser338 and Erk 1/2 at Tyr204). Both Cox1 and Cox2 play a role in the neuropathology of Alzheimer's disease by potentiating γ-secretase activity and β-amyloid generation. Pharmacological inhibition of COX can provide relief from the symptoms of inflammation and pain.
